چکیده

The magnetic properties of Na(2)CuP(2)O(7) were investigated by means of (31)P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), magnetic susceptibility, and heat capacity measurements. We report the (31)P NMR shift, the spin-lattice [Formula: see text], and spin-spin (1/T(2)) relaxation rate data as a function of temperature T. The temperature dependence of the NMR shift K(T) is well described by the S = 1/2 square lattice Heisenberg antiferromagnetic model with an intraplanar exchange of [Formula: see text] K and a hyperfine coupling A = 3533 ± 185 Oe /μ(B). The (31)P NMR spectrum was found to broaden abruptly below T∼10 K, signifying some kind of transition. However, no anomaly was noticed in the bulk susceptibility data down to 1.8 K. The heat capacity appears to have a weak maximum around 10 K. With decrease in temperature, the spin-lattice relaxation rate 1/T(1) decreases monotonically and appears to agree well with the high temperature series expansion expression for a S = 1/2 2D square lattice.

Nuclear relaxation in the spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic chain compound Sr2CuO3 — comparison between theories and experiments

The NMR relaxation data on Sr2CuO3 [Phys. Rev. Lett. 76, 4612 (1996)] are reexamined and compared with the analytic theory of the dynamic susceptibility in the S=1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chain including multiplicative logarithmic corrections [Phys. Rev. Lett. 78, 539 (1997)]. Comparisons of the spin-lattice and the gaussian spin-echo decay rates (1/T1 and 1/T2G) and their ratio all show...

Weakly Coupled Antiferromagnetic Quantum Spin Chains

Quasi-one-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets formed by a d-dimensional hypercubic lattice of weakly coupled spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chains are studied by combining exact results in one-dimension and renormalization group analyses of the interchain correlations. It is shown that d-dimensional magnetic long-range order develops at zero-temperature for infinitesimal antiferromagnet...

Excitations in a four-leg antiferromagnetic Heisenberg spin tube.

Inelastic neutron scattering is used to investigate magnetic excitations in the quasi-one-dimensional quantum spin-liquid system Cu(2)Cl(4).D(8)C(4)SO(2). Contrary to previously conjectured models that relied on bond-alternating nearest-neighbor interactions in the spin chains, the dominant interactions are actually next-nearest-neighbor in-chain antiferromagnetic couplings. The appropriate Hei...

Spin ladders with spin gaps: A description of a class of cuprates.

We investigate the magnetic properties of the Cu-O planes in stoichiometric Srn−1Cun+1O2n (n=3,5,7,...) which consist of CuO double chains periodically intergrown within the CuO2 planes. The double chains break up the two-dimensional antiferromagnetic planes into Heisenberg spin ladders with nr = 1 2 (n − 1) rungs and nl = 12 (n + 1) legs and described by the usual antiferromagnetic coupling J ...
